Debenhams “VAT free” claims scrutinised
“VAT FREE PRICES ON FRAGRANCES” was the headline on retailer Debenhams’ press advertising. The ASA investigated a complaint that this misleadingly implied the prices advertised were 20% less than the previous selling price. Fiona Schneider reports the outcome.
